Powerfully Effective Productivity/Life/Career Coaching

My coaching technique combines strategic planning with time management and anti-procrastination techniques. Coaching will help you: (1) clarify your situation, goals, resources and obstacles; (2) create an action plan for achieving your goals; and (3) follow the plan without succumbing to fears, blocks and procrastination.

I have helped hundreds of people throughout the United States with problems such as these:

Overcoming Procrastination and Blocks

Career Strategy and Job Searches

Entrepreneurship/Professional Art Career

My coaching is compassionate, yet direct and focused. I don’t beat around the bush, but tell you what I think you’re doing right (usually, more than you realize), what I think you’re doing wrong (usually, less), and the influence others may be having on your situation. We will start by clarifying your goals, then create an action plan, and then proceed with that plan taking easy baby steps while addressing any fears or blocks that arise. A few hours of work together is often all it takes to improve your outlook and future prospects.

I am available to talk for up to 30 minutes for free (no obligation) before you engage my services so you can see whether I’m a good fit for your needs. If you wish to send me some writing (resume, biographical sketch, email) about yourself, your background, and your current situation, I will review it for free before our first call.

“I’m so grateful to you for your insight and encouragement. I didn’t know where I wanted to go when I first contacted you, and I never imagined I’d find such treasures of insight in such a short time. I feel like this is just the right direction. It’s awesome.” — Eliza M., Boulder, CO

“Thought you’d be interested to know how things changed for me (quantitatively) between Oct & Nov (our 1st telephone conversation was 11/5): October billables: 33.42 hours, $1,715.31; November billables, 63.88 hours, $3,270.09. Wow! That is incredible! And my mood is soooo much better than it was in October. I truly feel like it’s hard to imagine a better investment than coaching time with you!” — coaching client (lawyer), Boston, MA

“Hillary saw in me what I believed but was not listening to. Her insight and understanding make her an instant ally in strategizing a successful balance between advocacy and sustenance…she picked up critical clues from our discussions and pointed me back to my positive and motivated path.”—Scott B., Maui, HI

“Hillary’s coaching helped me to distill both the essence and the quantitative detail, making my resume a true snapshot of my experience and my gifts. Her direct, task/goal-oriented, and supportive approach also provided me with an invaluable foundation for the development of a more effective job search. I felt more focused and exhilarated while working with Hillary.”—Harriet C., Medford, MA

“Through our talks, I came to recognize that I’d been believing things about my professional self that were just not true, and soon I was able to stick to a daily writing schedule and make a big move to another state that I’d been afraid of for months. Hillary is not a cheerleader — she is a fellow seeker who genuinely wants to bring out the best in people, and to do it honestly and wisely.”—Caroline A., Boston, MA

“After 22 years as a banking lawyer, I was laid off at age 53. This was the first time something like this had happened to me, and I had no experience in asking for help. I decided to work with Hillary, and I’m glad I did. She helped me get past the confusion and depression that came from what turned out to be the end of a career, and helped me focus on a strategy for starting the next one. I appreciated her compassionate and yet no-nonsense approach.”—Nick R.,Cambridge, MA

“Hillary is a tremendously helpful mentor who can help activists overcome the personal challenges that threaten our ability to work for social change.”—Adam W., New York, NY
