We find ourselves at the beginning of what I expect will be a multigenerational Democratic and progressive ascendancy. America is rising from the ashes of a corrupt and incompetent right-wing regime – “conservatives without conscience,” as John Dean dubbed them – that has caused monumental damage both here and abroad. We now have the opportunity to not only return hope, decency, responsibility and honor to our government and civic life, but to attain new heights of liberation, social justice and equality. And there is no doubt that we, the liberal blogosphere, helped make it happen. I am so proud to be part of that blogosphere, and to welcome you all here today.
